Verdict

There is not much between these on the official figures for the race and it will not be surprising to see this develop into more of test of tactics than speed on the racecourse - which may favour Swift Tango in this tight little contest. Penny Cross goes well at this course and has held her form well since ridding herself of her maiden tag here earlier in the season. The daughter of Efisio has coped well with the step up to this sort of trip in her last two starts and has nothing to fear with regard to the ground. However, she may be vulnerable to a fast finisher like Swift Tango and Ed Dunlop's charge is selected to come out on top today. The form of his recent outings looks solid in the context of this race and he can gain some compensation for some near misses of late. Strong Hand earns money for turning up but need to find improvement for the old clich¿bout the outsider of three to apply today.
