Verdict

Last week we had the rare sight of two high numbers fighting out the finish of a sprint here. so Mercers Row's double-digit draw may not be too much of a problem though he was drawn low when beating Select Committee over the C&D in May. Secret Venue was having his first start for over a year when third at Redcar last month and should get competitive with that under his belt while Steelcut, who has won 13 races in his time, wasn't suited by soft ground at Haydock after scoring on fast going at Lingfield. Tabaret is well drawn but hasn't won for almost two years so the vote goes to hat-trick seeking CHOC'A'MOCA. He's won a couple of minor handicaps at Carlisle and Catterick and is 5lb higher than for his latest success but at least he arrives in top form and is well berthed so it doesn't look beyond him to win again.
