Verdict

As ever, the draw will play a major part in tonight's sprints, and with that in mind, a sporting chance is taken with Gallas, in stall 12, to beat the likely favourite Burkees Graw who surely has a job on from the three box. There is no doubting that overall Burkees Graw has the form to prevail, having made all in similar company at Ayr in June, but his limitations were exposed when he trailed home last at York in nursery company last time, and he will have to be at his very best to track over to the far rail without losing ground here. In contrast, Gallas has a dream draw and will be fancied to recoup losses after his costly defeat in a decent York seller for Brian Meehan. He did not move freely to post that day and it was no surprise when he failed to get involved. However, that did not stop his new connections from claiming him, so they must have spotted some potential. They may be proved right at the first time of asking, while followers of the equally well-drawn Shamrock Tea can expect him to give a good account based on his efforts so far. Blue Moon Hitman has been kept busy and with the Berry stable slowly showing signs of turning the season around, he is another with credentials, but all in all we feel that Gallas is worth a speculative punt.
