Verdict

A number of regulars in this grade with ISLAND CHIEF selected at the expense of Whipma Whopma Gate and Dabbers Ridge. Kevin Ryan's charge ran third behind Fremen when tried over the trip. Seven furlongs at Catterick seemed sharp enough last time out and the step back up should suit. Whipma Whopma Gate is exposed as modest though Declan Carroll has proved a dab hand at sending out winners at this grade and she should be respected. Dabbers Ridge may have needed his first run of the season so more can be anticipated this afternoon. Royal Dignitary is arguably flattered by his BHA rating though has the fitness edge that many don't. Rub Of The Relic has a bit to find on the book though Paul Midgeley's horses are running well and it would be no surprise to see a good run. West Kirk performed adequately enough over seven furlongs at Lingfield and will be seen to better effect here.Conversely Dean Iarracht drops in trip having not stayed 1m4f in a bad maiden last time out. Island Chief gets the call in a race of limited punting appeal.
