Verdict

Primogeniture finally came good for David O'Meara after three seconds for the yard, the first of them over this track and trip behind a rejuvenated KING OF THE CELTS. The winner, who was completing a double on the track, returned here last month and gained another success and even with a 4lb rise to contend with looks likely to score again under regular partner Rachel Richardson. Monsea wasn't far behind in that earlier race and has a nice weight pull so has to be respected and Tin Pan Alley, who looked certain to win after building up a commanding lead, faded quickly in the closing stages. The three-year-old Peterhouse won here in April and has continued to run well at a similar level so is another to consider in a tricky handicap.
