In depth

Verdict

The Tim Easterby-trained Colonial Girl has an obvious chance on what she has shown so far and gets the nod over Ronnies Lad and Faithisflying. The last named looks the pick of David Chapman's runners and shapes as if he can pick a at least a race of this nature somewhere along the line. However, he does need to better the form of his latest start and others may have his measure near the finish. Ronnies Lad drops to what is arguably his best trip and he has to come into the reckoning on the pick of his efforts. Franny Norton has ridden him before and the partnership should not be underestimated in this company. However, the vote goes to Colonial Girl, who stands out on the official BHB figures for the race. The ease in grade will help her here and, with the best of the draw very much on her side, Colonial Girl is expected to be hard to beat here.
