In depth

Verdict

King's Crest will be a popular selection after fairly hacking-up at Pontefract on Tuesday, and a 4lb penalty may not be enough to stop him following up here. The same jockey booking and indications from the trainer about him having run into form just at the right time - make him the one they will all have to beat. Miss Opulence is also at the top of her game at present but was found to be wanting on her only try over this trip, and she will need to be given a patient ride by Vicky Haigh if she is to figure strongly at the finish. Most of Final Dividend's winning has been done over a couple of furlongs further than today's trip and, although he should go well for a long way, he may be found wanting for toe at the business end. Silistra is another to consider if the price about King's Crest becomes too restricting, but the Sadlers Wells colt has a little improvement to find, judging by the balance of his form so far.
