Verdict

Scarpeta finished runner-up over 1m3f at Bath a fortnight ago but has been raised 6lb for his trouble. RAINBOW LAD is preferred as he won over 1m2f at Chelmsford on his penultimate start but stays this longer trip and Mike Appleby’s charge should go close off his current mark. Mikro Polemistis was placed at Redcar when dropped back to a mile and Big Shoe won over the latter distance on the all-weather in February but Miss Marina Bay could prove a bigger danger. Making her handicap debut and stepping up to middle-distances for the first time, she is just the type Sir Mark Prescott does so well with.
