In depth

Verdict

Some major stables here for a modest prize. ALRAHAAL has been beaten a total of four lengths in four starts and should be ideally suited by this stiff track so this looks a good opportunity. Burford Brown made a good impression on his debut at Newmarket in September and started odds-on for his comeback at Yarmouth but ran poorly and will need to do better. Mr Gent looks quite moderate but was staying on over this trip at Redcar and could be capable of some improvement this campaign, a remark that also applies to Rampant Lion. The Night Porter was a 33/1 chance at Brighton last week but ran really well once getting the hang of the job so should be thereabouts while the newcomer Jathi, a son of Lawman, cost a whopping €470,000 and wouldn't have been expected to be starting out in a Beverley maiden.
