Verdict

Not one favourite has won this in ten years. SO IT'S WAR (NAP) was in cracking form around this time last year and will be winning again soon judged on his run at the last meeting where he was unfortunate not to be involved in the finish. He can take this as Roger Thorpe has only ever won at Southwell while Joyful Star has a bit more to do than winning a Class 6 handicap on soft ground at Ayr. Barwah has never won in this grade and he's 5lb higher than his victory on Tapeta at Newcastle but Make On Madam has to be respected as she won here at the beginning of last month and didn't run badly when stepped up in class at York.
