Some thus far disappointing sorts line up in the finale, and only a small vote goes the way of Easy Mover over Mink Mitten, Rice Mother and Kathryn Janeway. The selection does at least appear to be going the right way this season, stepping up on her fifth behind Master Joseph at Newcastle by finishing third to Gaelic Princess at Bath, coming from behind on both occasions. As those efforts were over a mile, the step up in trip today is at least one positive and she can give weight away all round with little to recommend the others. Rice Mother was sent off as favourite at Chepstow on her latest start but was one of the first beaten and is best watched. Mink Mitten has been another one-paced sort but should at least hold La Viola on Windsor running, and Kathryn Janeway has not built on her close second to Linnet at Warwick in May, finishing further behind that rival at Sandown three weeks ago. Not much to go on then, and our stab in the dark is Easy Mover.
