In depth

Verdict

Half-a-dozen of these were engaged in yesterday's 5.45 here so that result must be monitored. Pillar, who looked back to form at the Curragh a couple of weeks ago, was the selection in that race though the frustrating TEDDY BOY (NAP) will again have his supporters here despite being beaten by It's All A Joke at Naas on Sunday. Eddie Lynam's charge was conceding 12lb that day and, with his in-form rider's claim taken into consideration, will be receiving weight here. Musical Rue, a winner at Down Royal in July, couldn't handle an 11lb rise at Cork while Ty Rock Brandy, five times an all-weather winner, is 0-20 on Turf though has generally been performing well.
