Verdict

QUARTON and Mydor ran in a handicap over 2m1f here on Friday when the former started favourite after a fine run over this trip at Down Royal. He couldn't quite peg back the shock winner Portrade but stayed on strongly and can make amends. Mydor was well beaten and looks held but Roman General gained his only success in 19 career starts when tackling fast ground at Tipperary in April and with Ger Fox using his claim he doesn't look overburdened. Vasco Du Mee is a consistent performer over hurdles and fences and he's another who won't mind the conditions after a convincing victory at Perth last month. The veteran Marshim is in really good form and followed a narrow defeat by Mydor at Tipperary with another fine run in a big field there. Good Decision was in very good form around this time a year ago and he'll have needed the run at Wexford last time.
