Verdict

SPOOF (NAP) ended last season running in the Flying Childers at Doncaster and the Cornwallis at Newmarket. The latter is a Group 3 and he was only beaten a length-and-a-quarter so he would take all the beating in a race like this if returning in that kind of form. Hyperfocus came good at Haydock in September when encountering ground with plenty of give. With conditions in his favour on his reappearance, he looks a threat and John Gallagher’s filly Quench Dolly has won five of her 16 career starts and handles soft going – she needed a couple of runs last year, however. Under The Covers is a course and distance winner but the others have a lot to find at the weights.
