In depth

Verdict

In what is not a strong affair, the shortlist consists of Cheney Hill, Dragon Flame and Tender Process, with the vote going to the first-named horse. Cheney Hill showed a lot of improvement on last year's sole run when second to Pititana at Folkestone last time and looks a major player today. The Cayterer's never-nearer finish behind Prime Contender at Windsor over a mile last time did not suggest that a drop in trip was the answer but, that said, he looks to be improving so could go well. Dragon Flame has shown speed and ability on each start to date and has to be seriously considered, while Tender Process ran well for a long way at Nottingham last time and the drop in trip could see him in an even better light. With the other three being hard to fancy, we return to the selection, which is Cheney Hill.
