      Verdict

Jarvo is selected to beat Ben Hur in this weak event, with Gold Guest, One Upmanship and Youngs Forth others worth a mention at least. Nothing stands out too much in this seller, but Jarvo gets five-pounds from Ben Hur and that might just tilt the scales in his favour. The son of Pursuit Of Love is still a maiden after 26 career starts, but he has been steadily slipping down the weights and proved that he can handle fast underfoot conditions when second to Platinum Charmer in a ladies race over the course and distance last month. He was disappointing subsequently at Brighton so is no good thing, but in this poor contest he has leading claims. Ben Hur has won in slightly better company in the past and showed that his turn was near again when a close second in selling grade at Lingfield. One Upmanship was successful in a mile claimer at Haydock last August but has been hard to place over a variety of distances since. Youngs Forth tries this trip for the first time and may show some improvement, but we shall rely on Jarvo to finally break his duck.
