Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

Steppe Daughter has performed consistently well at this level and above over the past 12 months and is a player off an unchanged mark on ground she handles well. She's yet to win off this high a mark but is respected alongside fellow older horse, Cartier. David Simcock's filly was an easy Catterick winner in May but failed to follow-up ten days later at Windsor and hasn't been back in action since. She retains scope for improvement but that's a comment which especially applies to DAWN HORIZONS (NAP) The filly scored with real authority on just her second start when landing a Doncaster maiden and her trainer does very well with his select band of runners at this track. She has only performed on ground with cut to date but it is very unlikely that her handler would send her here unless confident she will handle conditions.
