Blue Zenith stepped up on the form of her debut effort over course and distance when a creditable sixth at Goodwood when last seen in June and has to be respected but Hobson has solid claims and gets the vote, with Shatter Resistant rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was outclassed in the Molecomb Stakes last time but earlier form in maidens makes him the pick of these on form and Eve Johnson Houghton's colt is taken to open his account. Lady Vibeeka ran better at Lingfield last time but needs to improve again on the form shown that day to trouble the judge, while Wee Buns has shown only a modicum of ability so far and may be best watched. It will be interesting to see how the market shapes up for Mick Channon's newcomer Willit but a bigger threat is likely to come from stablemate Shatter Resistant. The last mentioned has run a series of good races, having been placed in all but one of his eight starts and should be thereabouts again but he may have to settle for minor honours once more with Hobson getting the vote.
