In depth

Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute has his horses in excellent form and Floristry gets the nod here ahead of Brian Meehan's newcomer Toasted Special. The selection appeared to appreciate the quicker ground when a fair third at Beverley when last seen so today's ground should suit and having failed to quicken over an extra furlong on that occasion, this drop back to six furlongs may see him find the winners enclosure at the third time of asking. Willit was disappointing last time out at Ripon and now takes a step up in trip. That looks a good move and better should be expected. The market will help guide as to what is expected of Toasted Special on his debut, whilst Polish Priory has the most experience in the field. He takes a marked drop in class having contested a valuable sales race in Ireland and should be respected in this company. A weak opener, and the vote goes to Floristry.
