Verdict

Bold Hunter, the sole course and distance winner in this race, is going to take some beating and is the TEAMtalk selection. This Martin Evans-trained gelding has performed well over fences since making his chasing debut in April. His first chasing success came at Bangor in May, beating Flahive's First, who went on to score twice in August. However, since returning this season, Bold Hunter has been slightly out of sorts, so could appreciate the return to Bangor. Calinash looks the best of the rest. This eight-year-old has had four tough races, three over fences since 12 October, beaten by the likes of Vol Solitaire and Indalo. However, he has been jumping well, and it was the stamina-sapping ground that went against him when he was pulled up at Sedgefield recently. Father Mulcahy is carrying a lot of weight for making his chasing debut, while Good Potential struggled behind Calinash on his chasing debut at Sedgefield and was pulled up; he has some good hurdling form to his credit, and could be among the places in the moderate contest.
