    Verdict

Water Quirl gets the call here over Marked Man and Polar Red. The Tony McCoy-ridden selection hails from the Christian von der Recke stable, which does so well in Britain, and he won well on his debut here over fences. Marked Man has a course win to his name and looks set to play a leading part here, while Polar Red, the best of these over hurdles, has done well so far over fences but has to concede weight to his opponents. Overall, then, the call goes to Water Quirl.
