In depth

Formwatch

Gentle Rivage (FR) Chasing debut. Top rating of 148 over hurdles with 4 wins in 1999. Third to Monsignor in the Royal and Sun Alliance. Stepped up on company and coped admirably. Missed all last season but if he runs any where near his hurdle ability then serious chances today.

Master Club Royal Is yet to win a race, was running on desperate ground all last spring and despite some placed form was always well beaten. Rated 78 and never came off that mark.

Shifting Moon Top rating of 106 over hurdles, some placed form recently but in average company; chasing debut but likely to find others better.

Southern Star (IRE) Back to back wins in the Spring, trainer talked about the Sunalliance at Cheltenham. Beaten by Spring Margot at Ayr in April. Chasing debut; must go close.

Welsh Lad (IRE) 2 chase starts in the spring, flattered by 3rd to Frenchman's Creek at Ascot when well beaten; a bit to prove today.

Commanche Summer Still a maiden over hurdles and fences, with a rating of 75 over fences; others preferred.
