In depth

Verdict

As usual in these contests, the market should prove instructive, especially with many stables with fine records in such events in opposition. At this stage, CHARLIE WINGNUT can only be a tentative choice but Nicky Henderson is a real master with bumper horses and his representative was certainly not cheaply bought. Blue Blooded failed to follow up on a promising debut last time and could be much better than that - he too represents a top yard in these events. King Caractacus landed a point-to-point 55 days ago and is certainly worth considering if the market speaks in his favour.
