    Verdict

Gala Peformance is taken to make a winning return over Shirazi and Town Crier. Gala Performance's hurdles debut at Haydock caught the eye of the stewards and he was banned for 30 days, and since then has run just twice. He showed enough on his final start at Sandown last season to suggest that he will pay to follow when going into handicap company, and he will qualify for a mark after this outing. By then he may well have opened his account, unless Shirazi is capable of giving weight to him. David Gandolfo's charge scored at Newton Abbot in June and has been kept fit with an outing on the Flat at Epsom. Town Crier bounced back from a break with a win at Uttoxeter, but this is a grade higher and he may be found wanting. Gala Performance can start to fulfil his potential here.
