In depth

Verdict

Shabra Emperor is still a maiden after 22 starts but is getting closer from his lowly mark and should be in the mix. He was earlier behind DAIGREEN and Tohugo when they finished 1-2 over the C&D and is unlikely to reverse the form with the winner, who was having only his fifth start and won with something in hand. He can go in again as better was expected of Hurricane Sky when he started favourite at Gowran last time but he disappointed and blinkers are applied for the first time. Fibril is inconsistent but was racing from a mark of 74 a year ago and is down to 49 here.
