In depth

Verdict

SHANTALLA hasn't had much racing for his age and has shown definite signs of improvement in his last two starts, following a narrow defeat over hurdles at Killarney with a victory over fences at Listowel on Saturday. He has a 4lb penalty to carry but won with a bit in hand and can complete a quick double. Limerick Lane has to be a big threat after his narrow defeat by Ballibert at Galway but he's gone up in the weights again and has still to win a race of any description. Mount Sion likes fast ground as he showed at Roscommon on his penultimate start but What A Island would prefer some give which appears unlikely here. The consistent High Talk can get involved though the main threat could emerge from Debt To Society, an excellent third to Quick Jack over hurdles at Listowel on Saturday and making his handicap debut over fences.
