Verdict

THE VIRGINIAN, beaten less than a length at Wexford in June, won at Dundalk in March and may be good enough in a low-grade but competitive opener. Kings Keeper has been placed in all five starts over timber, though was beaten a long way at Thurles last time, while Noble Birth hasn't been running badly in handicaps. Tom McGreevy was conceding a stone when runner-up in a Tramore handicap and has to be on the shortlist while Be Fierce looks the type to do better after a fair effort at Punchestown. Spick And Span's close second here last month was a much-improved run and she's another to consider.
