In depth

Verdict

Mister McGoldrick is a classy performer on his day but Sue Smith's gelding has not been at his best for some time now and he remains plenty high enough in the weights so is probably best watched with preference for Wild Cane Ridge, who gets the vote ahead of Ransboro. The last mentioned has shown progressive form in handicaps in Ireland and could be of interest on his debut for Nicky Richards but he may be best watched on his first start for the yard. Kung Hei Fat Choi has slipped to a decent mark but has given little cause for optimism of late and preference is for Wild Cane Ridge, who stepped up on his reappearance run when chasing home Red Scally at Hexham two weeks ago. With further improvement to come, Len Lungo's gelding looks worth a bet to go one better.
