    Verdict

MAKYON has been competing in Pattern company without success since winning easily at Hamilton last month. Mark Johnston’s colt is penalised back at this level but is rated 95 and should be winning this on today’s terms. Clay Regazzoni also returns to novice company but has plenty to find with the selection at the weights while Kilham and Pearl Stream have yet to threaten. Solemn Pledge looks nothing out of the ordinary on breeding but may still prove best of the newcomers.
