In depth

Verdict

A tricky bumper to call, particularly with two Nicky Richards-trained debutants in Accordingtotheboss and Flinty Bay, and another useful-looking newcomer in Four Fiddlers, and we will side with BROOKLYN BAY. The Malcolm Jefferson-trained pick will hopefully be able to improve on his Bangor debut made earlier in the month, and he should appreciate the better ground. A step up in trip will undoubtedly suit in time, but for now we will side with his experience. Hidden In Time has had two runs, improving for his debut to go well enough back at Doncaster a couple of weeks ago. He seemed to appreciate the better going there and can get involved again. Accordingtotheboss is related to chase winners from 2m up to 3m 1f, while Flinty Bay increased in price from yearling to juvenile and is another well-related jumping-bred gelding. Four Fiddlers is another one to note in the market, given that he too has some decent bloodlines, and with that betting check paramount but unavailable as this is prepared, we will side with Brooklyn Bay.
