    Verdict

Star Lahib was a winning favourite at Chester a fortnight ago on her first start over 1m4f but CHRISTMAS LIGHT is just preferred over today's shorter trip. The latter scored at York last Saturday and can effectively race off a lower mark today with an apprentice's allowance taken into account. Brian Ellison's charge has already beaten Act Your Shoe Size and Lady Macduff and a hat-trick looks on the cards given Maven isn't getting any respite from the handicapper after a string of placed efforts.
