Verdict

Carbury Cross is sure to be all the rage after his sparkling success at Aintree last time but with an extra mile to cover here he is going to be plenty short enough at the likely odds and could be worth opposing. Marlborough,Inn At The Top and Paris Pike all came a cropper at the first in the Grand National so come here relatively fresh and are sure to be popular choices, but it might pay to side with Grey Abbey who has been laid out for this all season and comes here at the top of his game. The trip and ground look spot on and Barry Murtagh's stable star looks worth an interest. Cyfor Malta represents Pipe and McCoy and has to be respected even though he looks to be one of those "nearly" horses, but Enrique looks worth his place in the line up and could prove to be a solid each-way shot. Gunther McBride has been rested after a disappointing run last time and will come here fresher than most and is capable of getting into the shake-up.
