Verdict

CHOOKIE HAMILTON probably won't be a great price, but is taken to complete a hat-trick, being preferred to Ifatfirst and Summer Soul. Ian Semple's gelding is versatile over different trips, winning over 11 and 13 furlongs in his last two outings, and both in some style. The highly rated Jamie Kyne's on board claiming a handy five pounds, so avoiding top weight status. The form of that last race has been franked with the second coming out to win, and the five year old sets a decent standard. Jim Goldie's Ifatfirst races under a six pounds penalty after winning at Hamilton last time out following a lengthy lay-off. If coming on for that, then he should be involved at the business end. He looks the pick of the yard's two runners, although Kyber is the only one here to have won over course and distance. Summer Soul is the top weight, and looking to follow up a narrow win last time out on the flat, since when he's had another crack at hurdles. His three other career victories all came in Ireland. You could make a case for one or two, but the one with the most positives is Chookie Hamilton.
