    Verdict

BLETCHLEY’s ability to handle soft ground has to be taken on trust but she has the best form in the race. A losing favourite in the Group 2 Cherry Hinton at Newmarket on fast ground, she had earlier suffered a narrow-margin defeat in the Albany at Ascot. Drumfad Bay and Belle Meade have yet to threaten in pattern races but the latter’s stablemate Rosebride won a handicap in good style at Leicester last time. Shamsaya is another winning handicapper and handles most types of going and Partitia landed a conditions race at Chester last month. Stormy Clouds won a valuable sales race at York recently but may prefer faster ground.
