In depth

Verdict

Capucci is less exposed than his rivals after just four starts, made a good start to his handicap career when landing a mile contest at Newbury last month and John Gosden's colt is taken to defy the 5lb rise for that success, getting the verdict over Ninefineirishmen and Resounding Glory. The last mentioned is, like the selection, relatively lightly raced and has been showing gradual improvement in recent starts so has to be respected. Boy Blue looks to be going the right way but could probably do with some help from the handicapper. After a couple of disappointing efforts, Mark Johnston's Fitzroy Crossing ran better at Haydock last time but he needs to improve again on that effort to trouble the selection and of more interest may be Karl Burke's recent course maiden winner Ninefineirishmen, who returns to a handicap on a fair mark. Capucci looks to be going the right way though and he is hard to oppose.
