In depth

Verdict

A pretty competitive nursery that can go to the consistent Fox Covert - with Viking's Bay, Two Of Clubs and Sky Galaxy shortlisted as live dangers. Support for Black Oval will also be interesting and Mick Channon's charge could be good value for at least a place in this company. However, Fox Covert is holding his form well and gets in here off a handy mark considering his solid profile after sterling efforts in defeat. The son of Fox Hound has been dropped 1lb after being held in much better company than this at Hamilton last time, but his battling qualities will not face as much of a test against his rivals today. Robert Winston has the option of making or tracking the pace from his central draw, and the partnership can see off the likes of Viking's Bay as the more proven stayer over this six furlong trip.
