A fairly tight betting heat with little separating the leading contenders but Kung Hei Fat Choi is at the right end of the handicap and may be able to take advantage. Jim Goldie's charge had been struggling off higher marks of late but had come down the ratings sufficiently enough to record a comfortable success over this trip at Catterick last time. Still fairly treated following a subsequent 3lb rise and proven in the conditions, the son of Roselier is expected to prove hard to beat. Kerry Lads has some useful efforts in better company to his name and looked a certain winner here in November before falling at the final fence. The eight-year-old is capable of a bold show but his jumping technique and a welter burden to carry hardly inspire confidence. Ebony Light has ideal conditions and was a winner of a novice event at Newcastle last time so has to be feared although, along with Behavingbadly, he is still prone to making mistakes and could prove vulnerable when pressure is applied.
