        Verdict

        Global Spirit finished runner-up at Haydock earlier in the week and can race off the same mark while Smugglers Creek won last year’s renewal and scored at Carlisle on his penultimate start. Pudding Chare won over a mile here before finishing a close-up fourth over today’s trip but STRONG STEPS was placed in a higher grade over course and distance last time when ahead of Lucky Violet and looks set to end a long losing run off his current mark. Welcoming has only raced over 6f so far while Theatre Of War is fitted with headgear for the first time.
