In depth

Verdict

Raysrock is the pick to land this on the back of his demotion having dead heated with Logan's Run at Musselburgh. That performance was a big step up on what he has shown in bumpers and he is likely to come on for it so with that in mind he gets the vote. Blackpool Billy is the danger to the selection. The winner of a Towcester bumper, the Doncaster event that Ferdy Murphys' charge competed in last time would not have been run to suit although it was over four furlongs longer. He is likely to require a test of stamina so expect to see him on the pace here. The Depot Bar has ordinary Irish point-to-point form while Castledown Boy, who makes his hurdling debut finished third in what appeared an above average bumper for the venue. With the benefit of that Musselburgh outing under its belt, Raysrock is selected to win this.
