        Verdict

        GOLD FLASH is saddled with top weight but ran a cracking race on his first sortie over a mile last time when filling the minor placing in the Carlisle Bell consolation race behind Gurkha Friend. This arguably represents a more straightforward assignment and he receives the vote in the hope that the rains stay away. Eastern Dragon has been a paragon of consistency for the thriving Jardine operation and seems sure to be in the mix again along with Mustaqbal who looks to face optimum conditions here. The drop back to a mile will also aid his cause and he could well emerge as the main danger to the selection. Royal Holiday is into the veteran stage but retains enthusiasm and has place claims.
