In depth

Formwatch

Polar Prospect Only raced twice in last twelve months so entitled to improve on most recent effort. May just be in the handicapper's grip though.

Present Bleu (FR) Multiple winner in France, now makes debut for Martin Pipe. Very hard to assess, but stable has a good record with this type of horse so watch out for him in the market.

Pietro Bembo (IRE) Below par since winning over a year ago at Kempton. Likes to force the pace on soft ground but is probably best watched here.

Goldanzig (IRE) Dual winner in Ireland but has failed to sparkle in two starts for new connections. However, drops back in trip today and may find enough improvement to play a part.

Haditovski Real mudlark who returned to form with a game victory at Newbury recently. Carrying a stiff penalty here, but still capable of a bold show.

Fujiyama II (FR) January winner at Plumpton, his first race for almost a year. Has not looked like reproducing in two starts in better company, however.

Moonshine Bay (IRE) Good winner at Wincanton in November, and tried over inadequate trip on next two starts. Somewhat disappointing behind Ashley Muck at Newbury back at this trip last time, but remains on a potentially good mark and more than capable of winning this.

Water Stratford (IRE) Very lightly raced 8-y-o, won a hard battle at Huntingdon recently and could reverse last month's Ascot form with Haditovski, as that was his first race for nearly a year.

Bella Macrae Progressive mare with solid form behind her already. Steps up in class after winning an amateurs race at Sandown, but has more scope than most and looks the one they all have to beat.

Kildare Chiller (IRE) Won a weak looking race at Fontwell last October, but has had limitations exposed since then and has a lot on plate here.

Sandy Ground (FR) Formerly trained in France but has shown nothing iin two starts over here.
