In depth

Verdict

Berings Express gets the vote in this novices' hurdle with Psychomodo and Cullahill the others to consider. The selection hacked up at Stratford last time when beating Sergheyev and this 4-year-old looks like one to stay on the right side of this season. He has no trip or ground worries and he can get punters off to a winning start. Psychomodo is best on soft ground and he was a beaten favourite when last seen out. He is lightly-raced over hurdles but he is making his seasonal bow here and he is probably best watched today. Cullahill is a point-to-point winner and he ran a fair race on his debut in a bumper, but he will have to step-up considerably on that to get his head in front on his hurdling bow. Lady Bernie was well beaten last time and she is hard to reommend off the back of that effort. However, we will stick with Berings Express who looks to have rock solid claims.
