Verdict

BLACK CAVIAR is attempting her 22nd successive victory in an unbeaten career and, as half of those successes have been at Group 1 level, it's impossible to find a chink in her armour. One form comparison is that she gave Star Witness 7lb and a four-length beating at Flemington and the latter was just touched off by Prohibit in the King's Stand Stakes a year ago. Moonlight Cloud's best performances have been over 7f on testing ground so she's likely to be staying on past those who attempt to take on the Aussie flyer while Society Rock, the shock winner of this a year ago on soft ground, has been trained for a repeat and should go well. Kieren Fallon was at his brilliant best on Krypton Factor on the Tapeta surface in Dubai but his mount didn't enjoy the soft ground at Kranji last time though a poor draw didn't help. He could prove the each-way value against the one we've all been waiting to see.
