In depth

Verdict

A fairly competitive finale here, though Tikram has been running well in some better races over the last year or so, and on the best of those runs he has a great chance at the weights here. First-time blinkers are also applied and it could just be the time to catch him here, so he gets the TEAMtalk vote. Stablemate Rob Leach is another with solid enough form. He normally wears the headgear, but is given free reign here and he could chase home the selection. There are plenty of them who wil go on the ground, including Jonjo O'Neill-trained Effusive, and Victor Darnall's Hawadeth, who has shown ability. Another with a squeak is definitely Deep Sunset. He too has been running competitive handicaps for years and Nicky Henderson is likely to have him spot on for his seasonal reappearance. He looks booked for a place. Finally, Idaho D'Ox cannot be discounted, though he does look exposed and is switched back to hurdles after an unconvincing chasing debut at Exeter last month.
