Verdict

Homecoming Queen beat Starscope, who didn't get home over 1m2f at Newbury next time, and Oaks fifth Maybe in the Qipco 1000 Guineas with subsequent York and Chantilly winner Laugh Out Loud further behind. The Ballydoyle filly was probably given too much rope out in front at Newmarket, however, and couldn't follow up in the Irish 1000 Guineas. SAMITAR came out on top at the Curragh under a confident ride from Martin Harley and runner-up Ishvana franked the form in Wednesday's Jersey Stakes. There's no reason why she won't reproduce that form here and Mick Channon's daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar looks the one to beat. Bugie D'Amore was no match for Laugh Out Loud in the Prix De Sandringham and has a mountain to climb now while both the once-raced Cardigan and Elusive Kate are making their seasonal reappearance. The others are difficult to fancy at this level.
