Verdict

THE SAWYER often comes to hand around this time of year and, though Bob Buckler's 11-year-old is 12lb higher than when successful here 12 months ago, is fancied to give a good account of himself at one of his favourite venues. Breedsbreeze was only beaten half-a-length by Tartak in the re-scheduled Peterborough Chase at Newbury last month and could be well treated on his handicap debut over fences while Piraya improved for the fitting of cheekpieces in the autumn, though finished tailed off in this race in 2010. Pickamus is struggling for form but is gradually being eased toward a more appealing mark and could be a better each-way bet than I'm A Legend, who is upped in class today.
