The Vodafone Oaks form will be put to the test in this Group 2 contest, and we think Summitville, third at Epsom, can record a deserved victory here at the expense of Ocean Silk and Mezzo Soprano. James Given's filly finished seventh in the 1,000 Guineas on her reappearance, with Mezzo Soprano well behind, and gave the impression that day that she was badly in need of a further trip. Somewhat disappointing on soft ground in France, she then bounced right back to her best at Epsom, finishing an excellent third to Casual Look, with Inchberry a length and three quarters behind in fourth place. The latter had the run of the race and it is hard to see her reversing the form here. Ocean Silk looks a big danger, as she is very game and appears to be progressing all the time. She had Mezzo Soprano a length and a quarter behind when landing the Lupe Stakes at Goodwood and John Gosden's filly seems sure to do even better over this trip. Humouresque also merits respect, having won in Listed and Group 3 company at Saint Cloud before finishing ahead of Summitville at Longchamp, while Spanish Sun represents the powerful Sir Michael Stoute team but faces a very stiff task on her seasonal debut, having won her only start last year in maiden company at Kempton. Sun On The Sea was an impressive Listed winner at Newbury last time, but got the run of the race that day, and will find this company a lot harder. A fascinating race then, but Summitville's Group 1 form is just preferred to the progressive profile of Ocean Silk.
