Verdict

Silver Adonis ran well when finding just Mibleu too good at Newton Abbot last week and Dr Newland's gelding would have every chance if able to reproduce a similar level of form off the same mark today but preference is for MAJOR MILLER, who gets the vote with Nelson's Spice rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was good value for his chasing debut success in a novices' handicap at Perth in April, is fully entitled to have been raised the 8lbs for that success and, with plenty more to come over the larger obstacles, Nicky Henderson's gelding looks the one to beat. It's Bertie has more to do than when landing a weak race at Cartmel last time and of more interest may be Woody Valentine, who has been holding his form well but may now be a shade high in the weights. Jonjo O'Neill's Nelson's Spice is having his first outing since October but the yard have their runners in good form so lack of a recent run need not be of concern and he has to be respected but preference is for Major Miller, who is open to plenty of improvement over fences.
