WWE Main Event report: The Miz and his stunt double down the Zigglers

Awesome One secures victory with Skull Crushing Finale

The Miz and Damien Miz-dow finally got the better of Dolph Ziggler and R-Ziggler – at the third time of asking.

The Awesome One and his stunt double suffered defeat against the Zigglers on both last week’s edition of Smackdown and Monday’s episode of Raw.

But the pampered pair emerged victorious on Main Event, with Miz hitting R-Ziggler with the Skull Crushing Finale whilst The Show-Off was dealt with outside the ropes by Miz-dow.

Live WWE Night of Champions

However, a bigger match awaits Miz at Night of Champions, where he will try to prise the Intercontinental Championship from the clutches of Dolph Ziggler.

Nikki Bella will fight for gold in Nashville, too, but her sister, Brie, showed on Main Event why it may have been an oversight to not include her in Sunday’s Divas Title dust-up.

The wife of Daniel Bryan entered “Brie Mode” to defeat former Funkadactyl Cameron following a facebuster – though the Arizona-born grappler will have to watch on with envy at the weekend as her sibling Nikki battles champion Paige and AJ Lee for the Divas belt.

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns will tear clumps out of each other at Night of Champions, meanwhile, and The Architect warmed up for that encounter by conquering another powerhouse on Tuesday evening.

Rollins was given a huge test by Big E but eventually downed his larger foe with a Curb Stomp.

Can he do the same to Reigns in Music City?
