Ivo Karlovic became the oldest winner of the Delray Beach Open after beating Donald Young 6-3 6-3 in the final of the Florida event.
The big-serving 35-year-old, who turns 36 on February 28, smashed down 13 aces but still had to save seven break points as Young tried in vain to become a rare unseeded tournament winner.
Karlovic won all 56 of his service games on his way to a sixth ATP Tour title - he has only dropped his serve four times all year so far.
He closed out the match with two aces clocked at 142 mph.
"It is really satisfying. At my age to do this is an unbelievable feeling and this gives me a boost of confidence to go into other events," Karlovic said.
"I am healthy. I feel fast, strong. I don't know how many more years I can do this but for now I am feeling good. In all the tests I am like eight years ago."
Young said: "He kind of tosses in the same spot and can hit all the spots on the court.
"You look and see some tendencies. I was able to pick quite a few, but just not when it actually mattered.
"He played well. He beat me. I didn't play the best I wanted to play, but all credit to him."
In the doubles event, American greats Bob and Mike Bryan won their 105th title with a 6-3 3-6 10-6 win over South Africa's Raven Klaasen and Leander Paes of India.
